Our founder, Gene Zurbrugg, took up carpentry in his early twenties. Shortly after, in 1971, he decided to pursue the American dream: starting his own family run company. Over the years, our team has built deep, long-standing relationships within the community, making us the obvious choice for light commercial construction projects.
We attribute our success to a few basic principles: love what you do, have a strong work ethic, put your customers first, and give back to the community.
To this day, we remain a local, family run business servicing Washington County. As the next generation steps into leadership, our founder is able to dedicate more of his time to serve his community via volunteerism.
These days, you can find Gene participating in the following:
Pacific University Board (present)
Tuality Healthcare Board (present)
Board of Washington County Business Council (present)
The Hillsboro Chamber and its Board of Directors
The Tuality Foundation Board - Fundraising
Chairman of the Tuality Scholarship Committee
Member of the Rotary Club
Member of the Hillsboro Downtown Business Association
Judge in the Hillsboro Youth Peer Court System
Serving various Bank Boards
Giving back and remaining involved in the local community is an integral piece of Zurbrugg tradition. We know that communities are strengthened by people coming together to make a difference.
